Professor Francis Vaz is an ENT / Head and Neck and Thyroid surgeon with his NHS base at University College London Hospital. He also practices privately at The Harley Street Clinic (HCA) and The Sloane and Shirley Oaks Hospitals (BMI). He has a wealth of experience in general ENT as well as super-specialist Head and Neck / Thyroid expertise.

Professor Vaz trained in London as an undergraduate at Guys and St Thomas’ where he was awarded the Roger Warwick prize in ENT. He went onto his higher specialist ENT training in the South-East of England rotating through hospitals in Brighton, Medway, Ashford as well as Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals. He undertook the prestigious Fellowship at The Princess Alexandra Hopital in Brisbane, Australia under the guidance of the world renowned Prof William Coman having been awarded The Lionel Colledge Fellowship award from The Royal College of Surgeons.

Francis Vaz has been an integral part of the Head and Neck unit at University College London Hospitals. He has chaired and led the Multidisciplinary team there and taken them through multiple PEER review processes extremely successfully. He has a healthy Head and Neck / thyroid practice and has a large patient cohort both in the NHS and privately that has benefited from his care and guidance through their journeys.

Francis has always enjoyed educating and has been involved in setting up and participating in numerous courses. He currently leads the Head and Neck module for the MCh in Otorhinolaryngology at Christchurch Canterbury University Kent. He is an examiner for The Royal College of Surgeons of England as well as The European Board Examination in Otorhinolaryngology.

In his personal time Francis is passionate about golf and spending time with his family and keeping fit with swimming and walking.
